Palace of Culture and Science (Pałac Kultury i Nauki)

One of Warsaw’s landmarks is the Palace of Culture and Science, built in Social Realist style in the 1950s. It houses a cinema, theatres, museums, offices and a large conference hall for almost 3,000 people often used as a concert venue. The architecture of the Palace of Culture and Science is in contrast with the architecture of its surrounding buildings, which are from the late 20th and early 21st century. Close-by are the Golden Terraces, Daniel Libeskind’s residential tower Złota 44 and several other high-rises.
